The minimum stay across every cottage and cabin at Thorpewood is three nights, year-round — including July and August. Short midweek breaks and long weekends are welcome throughout the seasons.

No — there are no set changeover days at Thorpewood. You can arrive and leave on any day of the week, which makes short breaks and off-peak stays much easier to plan.

Standard check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 10am. If you're arriving late or need a slightly earlier start, let us know when you book and we'll do what we can.

Summer holidays, half-term weeks and Christmas at The Grove House tend to go early — three to six months ahead is sensible. Off-peak and midweek stays are often available at short notice, so it's always worth asking.

Thorpewood is at Nursery Farm, Cromer Road, Thorpe Market, Norfolk NR11 8TU — nine acres of private woodland that was once part of the Gunton estate in rural North Norfolk. It's a quiet village setting, five miles inland from the Cromer coast.

Thorpewood is five miles from Cromer beach — around a ten-minute drive. Overstrand, Mundesley, Sheringham and the wilder stretches of the North Norfolk coast are all within twenty minutes.

Gunton Station is only 1 mile away, on the Bittern Line between Norwich and Sheringham. Cromer is the next stop up if you'd rather come in via the seafront.

Within twenty minutes you have the North Norfolk coast, the Norfolk Broads, seal-watching trips from Blakeney, Felbrigg Hall, Sheringham Park and the North Norfolk Railway. On the estate itself, there are nine acres of woodland to wander before you even get in the car.

Yes — every cottage and cabin has private off-road parking on the estate. There are two EV chargers on site if you're arriving in an electric car.

There are seven properties at Thorpewood — The Grove House, The Barn, The Cove, Willow, Primrose, Drift and No.6. Each has its own private garden or patio, its own hot tub, and its own character, from the four-bedroom Grade II listed farmhouse to the intimate cabins for two.

The Grove House is a renovated thatched cottage sleeping up to 8. The Barn, The Cove and Willow are refurbished cabins sleeping between 5 and 4 each. Primrose is a brick and flint converted barn sleeping 4. Drift and No.6 are renovated cabins, each sleeping 2.

Some guests find us searching for luxury glamping in North Norfolk, but Thorpewood is a collection of proper cottages and cabins — brick and flint walls, en-suite bathrooms, real beds. It's the calm and design of glamping, without the canvas.

Drift and No.6 are the two Thorpewood cabins built for two — each with a king bed, a private hot tub and a single-storey layout. Drift is the calmer, coastal-leaning one; No.6 is bolder and more playful, with dramatic A-frame trusses and warmer tones.

The Barn (sleeps 5), The Cove (sleeps 4), Willow (sleeps 4) and Primrose (sleeps 4, with the biggest garden of the cabins) all suit small families comfortably. For larger families or multi-generational stays, The Grove House sleeps up to eight across four bedrooms.

The Grove House is the largest — a Grade II listed brick-and-flint thatched farmhouse sleeping eight across four bedrooms, with an Aga kitchen, two wood-burners, three floors and a hot tub in the rear courtyard. It's the natural choice for celebrations and family gatherings.

Primrose is the most tucked-away of the cabins, set a little further back on the estate with the largest garden of the group. Its original brick-and-flint walls and enclosed garden make it the quietest option for guests who want to disappear into the trees.

Yes — every property at Thorpewood has its own private hot tub, including all four cottages and all three cabins. Each hot tub is in a private garden or courtyard, not overlooked, and available year-round.

Yes — the hot tubs are kept at temperature all year, and winter is arguably when they're best. A soak in the dark with the woodland around you and a wood-burner going inside is one of the reasons people book in January.

Yes — every cottage and cabin has fast Wi-Fi included. It's reliable enough to work from if you need to, though most guests find a day or two in and stop checking.

The Grove House has two wood-burners — one in the living room and one in the dining room. The cabins and other cottages have central heating throughout rather than wood-burners, so they're warm through the winter without needing to lay a fire.

Yes — all bed linen, bath towels and tea towels are provided as standard. Heating, electricity and Wi-Fi are all included in the price too, so there are no add-ons at the end.

Yes — there are two electric-car charging points at Thorpewood available to guests. Let us know when you book if you're planning to use them so we can point you at them on arrival.

Yes — dogs are welcome at every cottage and cabin at Thorpewood, with no restrictions on which properties they can join you in. The nine acres of private woodland were, in a real sense, built for them.

There is a small per-dog charge per stay to cover extra cleaning — the exact figure is on the Book page and confirmed when you book. There's no cap on how many dogs, within reason; just tell us how many are coming.

Drift and No.6 are single-storey but have steps up from the gate to the front door. The Barn, although on two floors, has two bedrooms and a walk-in shower on the ground floor. If you want to talk through access, it's best to contact Jake and we'll make sure you find the right fit.

Yes — Thorpewood suits families with young children, and travel cots and high chairs can be arranged on request. There is a small pond in the grounds worth being aware of if you're travelling with under-fives.

No one lives in the properties, but there are people close by and available if any issues arise. Contact details are in your welcome pack the moment you arrive.

Every stay includes a welcome tray with tea, coffee, milk and a few local touches to see you through the first evening. For anything more substantial, we can point you at the nearest farm shop and the best delivery-friendly supplier.

Unfortunately it is not possible for us to arrange a delivery on your behalf at this point. Supermarket deliveries (Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose) do serve Thorpe Market, so you can book a slot to arrive after check-in if you prefer.

The Gunton Arms is a fifteen-minute walk across the estate — proper food, art on the walls, deer in the park. The nearest village shop is in Southrepps, and Cromer's high street is a ten-minute drive.
