We set out to create the kind of place we'd always wanted to find ourselves — a collection of beautifully restored retreats, nestled within nine acres of woodland, where unforgettable Norfolk escapes begin.

Thorpewood sits on a corner of what was once part of The Gunton Hall Estate, just outside the village of Thorpe Market in rural North Norfolk.

The Grade II listed brick-and-flint farmhouse is still the centre of the estate, while the cottages, barns and cabins around it have been quietly refurbished, one at a time, into the kind of retreat we wanted to find ourselves.

The brief was simple. Keep what's beautiful... the beams, the flint, the dairy walls, the trees. Add what's missing... proper beds, considered design, hot tubs, fast WiFi, EV chargers. And leave the woodland alone, because it's the reason you came.

Luxury doesn't have to be formal. We believe it's found in thoughtful details, beautiful surroundings and time spent together.
